Laser acne treatment generally works by stopping the bacterial growth which causes acne break outs. During the procedure, the dermatologists use light and heat to kill the bacteria and reduce the scarring effects of acne.

Once the sebaceous glands contract, they will no longer be able to produce excessive amounts of oily sebum.
